Collision explores the constant stream of thoughts, emotions, and choices that compete for our attention every day. Layered
with stitched elements, fragmented text, woven structures, hidden imagery, and tactile surfaces, the book reflects the
mental landscape of navigating uncertainty when every option seems to demand immediate consideration.
Each page presents a collection of possibilities rather than clear answers. Contradictory messages, interrupted pathways,
and interconnected threads mirror the experience of weighing decisions while feeling pulled in multiple directions. As the
pages turn, moments of clarity emerge only to give way to new questions, inviting the viewer to slow down and consider the
complexity of ordinary decision-making.
The interactive nature of the book reinforces its central idea: there is rarely a single correct path. Every choice carries
consequences, every decision shapes the next, and mistakes are as much a part of growth as successes. Collision
acknowledges the mental noise that accompanies modern life while recognizing the resilience required to keep moving
forward, one decision at a time.
Artist Statement
There are days when my mind feels less like a straight path and more like an intersection where every thought arrives at once.
Responsibilities, memories, worries, possibilities, regrets, and hopes all demand attention simultaneously. Some are loud. Others
whisper. Together they create a kind of internal noise that can make even the smallest decision feel impossibly complicated.
Collision grew from that experience.
As I assembled the book, I found myself layering fragments much the same way thoughts accumulate in my mind. Threads
cross and tangle. Words overlap and interrupt one another. Images appear only to disappear beneath something else. The
process became less about illustrating anxiety than about acknowledging the reality of living with competing ideas that rarely
resolve themselves neatly.
I have learned that certainty is often an illusion. We make hundreds of decisions every day with incomplete information, trusting
our instincts, our values, and sometimes little more than hope. Some choices become turning points. Others fade into
insignificance. Many are impossible to judge until long after they have been made.
Making this book reminded me that life is not lived by finding perfect answers. It is lived by continuing to choose, even when the
outcome is unknown. Every page, stitch, and connection became an act of accepting uncertainty rather than resisting it.
In the end, Collision is not about chaos. It is about perseverance. It is about trusting that even when our thoughts seem to collide,
we can still gather the fragments, make another decision, and move forward.
